The Drow of the Underdark
The Underdark is a vast, cavernous world located beneath the surface of the world. The dark and treacherous network of tunnels and caverns are home to many different creatures, including the elusive Drow, a subrace of Elves who have adapted to the harsh conditions of the Underdark. The Drow are known for their cruelty and cunning, as well as their skill in magic and combat. They have established a number of cities throughout the Underdark, each with its own unique characteristics and challenges.
One of the most notable Drow cities is Innbellor, a ruined city located beneath the Zaulfung Forest and the Zaulfung Swamp. It is rumored to be the lair of Jomag, Vortex Awoken, an ancient black dragon who has made the city his home. The city was once a thriving metropolis, but it has fallen into disrepair over the years, and much of it now lies in ruins.
Another important Drow city is Mir'kal, which is known for its mining and crafting of adamantite, an alloy of adamantine that crumbles when exposed to the surface world's sunlight. The city is built around a massive mine, and the Drow of Mir'kal are skilled at mining and refining the precious metal.
Falanor is another Drow city, located beneath the Forest of Night. It is widely considered to be the most evil of the Drow cities, and its inhabitants are notorious for kidnapping surface-dwellers for use in their twisted rituals and sacrifices, or simply to be used as slave labor. They relish kidnapping their cousins, the Elves, most of all, taking pride in enslaving those that they consider 'lesser' to themselves.
Drus'ya was once a surface city that was magically moved underground to protect itself from the wars of the surface world. It is now a thriving Drow city, and its inhabitants are skilled at magic and combat. It lies on the edge of the Great Divide, and is rumored to have a gateway from the city into the cavernous chasm for the inhabitants to explore. Esto'vir is a Drow city located at the edge of Nyalassa's End, a labyrinthine structure of caves that supposedly houses a world-ending creature. The city serves as a protectorate of the area, and its inhabitants are skilled at combat and magic. Loth Aergon is a Drow city that tends to an Underdark forest of bioluminescent plants and fungi. The city is known for its close proximity to the surface-type Elves, and many of its inhabitants are Circle of Spores Druids, skilled in the arts of nature magic.
