The Gnolls of the Pridelands

The gnolls are a barbaric and ferocious tribe that occupies the northern and northwestern regions of the Great Kingdom of Edeli. Their society is heavily influenced by their belief in their patron deity, the Great Hunter, and their way of life revolves around hunting, raiding, and pillaging. While they are a fierce and dangerous enemy, they also have a rich and complex culture of their own.

The gnolls are organized into various clans, each led by a powerful chieftain. However, the ultimate leader of the gnoll tribes is the God-King, a powerful figure believed to be the direct conduit to their deity. The God-King's authority is absolute, and their word is law, and it is said that their power is granted by their patron deity.

The God-King of the gnolls is named Kalgorak, a towering figure standing over 10 feet tall with rippling muscles and a menacing presence. He wears a crown of bones and a cloak made of the pelts of his enemies. His voice is deep and commanding, striking fear into the hearts of his enemies and inspiring loyalty among his followers. He is a skilled warrior and strategist, leading his armies to countless victories against the Centaurs and other neighboring tribes.
The gnolls' way of life revolves around hunting, raiding, and pillaging. They are nomadic, and their territory is not defined by fixed borders. Instead, they move from place to place, following the migration of prey and the movements of enemy tribes.
The gnolls' social structure is heavily influenced by their belief in their deity, whom they call the Great Hunter. The Great Hunter is believed to have created the gnolls and guides them in their daily lives, offering them strength and power in battle. The gnolls believe that their deity is pleased with them when they offer up sacrifices and are successful in their raids, and they will go to great lengths to please their patron.
In battle, the gnolls are a terrifying force, relying on their physical strength and savage nature to overwhelm their enemies. They fight with a ferocity and single-mindedness that can be difficult to counter. It is said that they will even resort to cannibalism in times of extreme desperation, though such rumors are difficult to verify.
Despite their fearsome reputation, the gnolls have a complex culture of their own. They have a rich oral tradition, with epic stories and myths passed down through generations. They have their own art, music, and dance, though to outsiders, these may seem crude or simplistic.
The gnolls have had limited interactions with the Great Kingdom of Edeli. Their raids on the borders have been met with resistance, and there have been occasional skirmishes between the two sides. However, the gnolls have shown little interest in occupying the Great Kingdom's territory, preferring to keep to their own way of life.
