Personal history
Tyr Magnuson was born in the year 108 before the Victory of Lanival the Redeemer, the youngest child of a family of traveling Gnomish performers. From an early age, Tyr showed an extraordinary talent for music, with a voice as pure as a mountain stream and fingers that danced across the strings of his dulcimer with effortless grace.
As a young man, Tyr took to the road, wandering from town to town, singing songs of love and loss, hope and despair. He made a name for himself as a skald, spinning tales that captivated audiences and made them laugh, cry, and sometimes even fall in love.
But for all his talent, Tyr was a tortured soul, haunted by demons he could never quite shake. He turned to drink and other vices to dull the pain, but nothing could silence the voices in his head.
In his later years, Tyr became obsessed with Shimmer Crystal, a rare and precious material that he believed held the key to unlocking the secrets of the universe. He commissioned a dulcimer made entirely of the crystal, pouring his life's savings into the project.
When the instrument was finally completed, Tyr played it for the first and only time in a small tavern on the outskirts of River Crossing. The music was said to be so beautiful that it moved even the hardest of hearts to tears, and grumbling Dwarves to silence their anger.
But the strain of creating such a masterpiece took its toll on Tyr, and he took his own life soon after. To this day, his dulcimer remains a legend among musicians and collectors alike, its strings said to still vibrate with the magic of Tyr Magnuson's music.
