beastkin of Keyrae

The beastkin of Keyrae are functionally the same as beaskin in other material plane worlds, though their origins are different. Keyraen beaskin are, more often than not, the result of exposure to exorbitant amounts of fae magic that alters the very DNA of the being, infusing it with the DNA of random beasts and monsters. Because it affects the afflicted at a genetic level, their beastkin traits can sometimes be passed on to their children, creating whole families of beastkin.
However, not every beastkin has total control over their abilities. the moon Cryson can influence their transformations. when Cryson is full, beastkin who do not have full mastery over themselves will lose control and transform, behaving much like werecreatures. Burning Nights, when Cryson's orbit brings it closer to Keyrae, are especially difficult to resist.
