Outskirts
It is unknown if any cities other than Din'Lux survived the return of the Starless Nights. Smaller towns and farming communities near the city are protected by the glow of its Great Lighthouse and a few towns further out even have their own smaller kinfire lighthouses. These nearby towns can be reached easily in between Starless Nights and their lighthouses are visible as tiny dots flickering on the horizon. What lies beyond Din'Lux is anyone's guess. A few isolated pockets of reality likely still exist, though: locations connected with strong emotions and closely tied with the spirits of this world or infused with magic, such as cemeteries, temples, or battlefields.
Survivors gathered in Din'Lux try to reclaim the world from the Starless Nights. In this effort, they are assisted by the secretive Temple of Ziva, the Scholars' Circle, and the Seekers' Guild. The Temple feeds and protects kinfire, the Scholars’ Circle studies it, whereas the Seekers venture boldly beyond the protective radius of the Great Lighthouse, equipped with kinfire lanterns.
Aiven
The site of Aiven has existed since even before Ziva was believed to have gifted her people with kinfire. It is known to be at least 4,000 years old. Before the Great War pushed its residents to evacuate, Aiven was home to a wealthy community overlooking sea. While it was a few days travel from Din'Lux, many powerful elves once held land here as a place to get away from the city. During the Great War, it fell to the forces of Dwar Fell. Its kinfire lighthouse was toppled and most of its grand structures destroyed. All the remains are ruins and what is left of the great Palace of Aiven, where ancient elves are thought to have ruled many millennia ago.
Talissen Swamp
Formerly known as Talissen Valley, this area was once rich with fertile lands. A large number of orcish farming communities populated the area until the Starless Nights returned and the Darkness transformed the region into a marshy swampland. A number of strange artifacts and creatures have since been found in the area.
