The Stumps

The Stumps is geographically the lowest part of Din'Lux, reaching down to the sea. This area is a mix of lower income housing, businesses, public buildings, and military barracks. The streets here are not quite as well-maintained and many of the walkways are mere dirt paths.

The Low Gate is the location of the Din'Lux city gates as well as the soldiers' barracks. Just inside the city gates are two towering elven statues glaring down at all who enter. A wide courtyard stands behind them where you can find the Low Gate Market, a tightly-packed complex of tents and stalls where merchants and farmers from outside the city sell cheap goods, such as fruits and vegetables, cloth and leather, and other items.

Most of the prime businesses in the Stumps can be found in Garden Faire, just past the Low Gate Market. Behind the row of shops and businesses is the Lords' Rest, a cemetery of stone mausoleums where the wealthy lay their dead to rest.

Along the docks is Mariner's Wharf, which features the shipyards, the main fishing fleet of Din'Lux, and homes for many of the fishermen, craftsmen, and shopkeepers of Din'Lux. The residents of this neighborhood share communal wells for their water supply, but some of these homes feature private enclosed gardens.

The cheapest housing in Din'Lux can be found in the Tumbles on the western cliffs of the Stumps. The ramshackle homes and tents here form a crowded maze that only the locals know how to navigate. The dirty pathways are narrow and winding. The residents here are forced to share a single communal well unless they want to venture to the well on the north side where they are likely to be harassed by the gate guards.

Seeker's Rest is the central area of the Stumps where the Library of Light and the Seeker's Guildhouse stands. There are also a few homes here as well as businesses that cater mostly to the Seekers that frequent the area.
