Dantes stands at 5’10” with an average build. Though his dark grey hair and beard are shadowed by his signature Cavalier’s cap, adorned by feathers and plumes, his piercing gold eyes burn with an unspoken zeal, making a striking impression. Dressed for any eventuality, he also wears a fine silk sash, a tradition for the head of the family passed down from when his house was first founded in the second century. Like most of his fellow Grandees, the sword he carries is unique, carefully weighted to aid his style of duelling.

The eldest of four children born to Arcetta and Emanuel Svedestes, Dantes was burdened with the expectations of his family and all but raised to inherit leadership of his house. While his siblings embraced a lifestyle of irresponsibility and pleasure-seeking, Dantes spent much of his youth under his mother’s careful tutelage, educated in duelling and the ways of his house. Perceiving duelling as a manner of artistry, Dantes passionately engaged with the tradition becoming renowned as a light-footed duellist with swift strikes. While convalescing in a monastery after he was wounded in a duel, Dantes began to take a devoted interest in Ninthism that persists to the present. Beyond his noble life, Dantes leads a small group of Cavaliers, a traditional, mounted unit in the South.
Intellectual Characteristics
A consummate Grandee, Dantes valiantly attempts to follow a code of conduct centered on honour. With a mind for peace and tradition, he places immense value on the idea of a stable Kingdom and to that end, offers the crown his complete loyalty. For so long as the Crown remains righteous, they shall have the truest of allies until the end of all days. He also has a dedicated, scholarly interest in history and Ninthist theology, often visiting Quayle University and Southern monasteries to pore over texts. Well-mannered and even-tempered, Dantes maintains a stately formalism though he is not immune to visibly wearing his emotions on his sleeve.

A sociable and gracious host, Dantes has a natural fondness for company and conversation. Believing in the notion of sacred hospitality he treats all guests to cheeses, meats, and bread, with a bottle of family wine, attending to them like his own family. Within his family, Dantes maintains a watchful eye over his far more troublesome younger siblings, dutifully nudging them away from their reckless behavior. Despite their differences, they four have a strong bond with one another. Though he does not hold republican sentiments, Dantes has a strong popularity with his peasants too, no doubt from his agricultural background, kind treatment, and regular observance of the day of rest.
