BSG | Event 0007 - The Favoured Competitor
General Summary
The Barons of the March have assembled upon a jousting field, watching from tall stands. The place is buzzing with excitement.
Baron Merk Knife:Welcome, one and all! We have a most thrilling guest today!
Cheering erupts, and the Nobles stamp so hard that the stands tremble.
Baron Merk Knife:King Calimaco Bladesong:Your Majesty, the highest-ranked knights of the tournament are applying for your favour!
First is Baron Komori Kitsune the Cunning, who won every bout last year! Some claim that he cheated, but surely they're just jealous.
Second is Baroness Anastasia Kemnat. No one thought she would succeed this year, but she obviously trained hard! People're calling her the Underdog!
Last is Lady Patrician Celestine Santos the, er, Interloper. A surprise foreign contestant, but she qualified nonetheless!
So, Your Highness, who will you favour?
Baroness Anastasia Kemnat the Underdog.
Calimaco beckons her forward and affixes the ribbon to her chest.
The crowd cheers as she rides to the starting post.
Calimaco nods austerely.
Anastasia looks a bit worried, but bows again. The bout begins!
Lady Patrician Santos is their first opponent. Their horses stamp as the two jousters glare at each other across the field.
Lady Patrician Celestine Santos:Have at you!
The jousters gallop towards each other. Anastasia's lance catches Celestine in the shoulder, but does not unseat her.
But she is weakened. On Anastasia's next charge, they hit Celestine right in the chest! The horse stumbles, then throws her into a heap in the dust.
Anastasia Kemnat wins the day, claims a hefty cash prize, and is on track to win the entire jousting championship!
