BSG | Event 0045 - An Irksome Legacy
General Summary
King Calimaco Bladesong:Your Majesty! About the treasures of the late Baroness Frederica... I heard there was a necklace of rubies amongst them.
Where is the necklace now? This is of the utmost importance!
I assume Grandee Doc Anjo has it.High Inquisitor Petronia:
King Calimaco Bladesong:And they will have no idea of the danger! By the Ninth!
A frail monk in the seventh century wrote of a ruby necklace that drove those around it to sin.
I believe the late Baroness Frederica had it in her collection. After all this time, it may have surfaced!
This proof seems... flimsy.
The High Inquisitor draws herself up to her full height and fixes him with a steel glare.
High Inquisitor Petronia:You doubt the word of a seventh-century monk who was known for his wisdom?
The necklace should be destroyed. It could be tested, but the holy reagents will be expensives...
The Council is called to discuss the situation. Grandee Doc Anjo looks exceendingly anxious.
Grandee Doc Anjo:I... I'm sure there's no reason to seize this necklace, Your Holiness. Surely the High Inquisitor is mistaken? The Council
Result | What should be done with the possibly-cursed necklace of the deceased? |
---|---|
Yea | Hand it over to The Inquisition. |
Veto | Ignore the High Inquisitor's concerns. |
Nay | Have the necklace tested for unholy influences. |
Grandee Doc Anjo reluctantly hands over the necklace to The Inquisition. It is never seen again.
The Archbishop takes pity on him and sends a nominal free as an apolgy, but that doesn't soothe anyone's nerves.
When word gets around about what happened, no one is impressed about the Monarch giving in so easily. There are even rumours that the High Inquisitor now wears the necklace herself beneath her ceremonial robes!
She refuses to even acknowledge such stories. If they were anywhere near the thruth, the necklace is well-hidden.
