Kingdom of Rovaria

Created by

It is the year 836 pd and the Kingdom of Rovaria is currently under the steadfast rule of King Marcellus II. The aging monarch sits on his throne in the great city of Rotham. The most populas and well known cities within Rovaria are the capitol Rotham, Felwood and Caelfal, as well as the free cities of White Water and Doveport. A peace treaty has been in place between the elves, humans and the dwarves since the great war or "The Sundering" of 732. The great war saw the orcish clans of Urraz unite under one banner to attack the shores of Rovaria, and despite many losses, the war was eventually won after the late King (Vilnus I) relented and lifted the ban on magic within the kingdom, this allowed the mages guild to reform and intervene. Many stories have been told of the final battle at Caelfal, some say that the Triton God Persana made his presence known. Most take the view that the mages under the leadership of Archmage Marwyn Leonis, created the devastating tsunami that swept the orc ships away and turned the tide of the battle. Various accounts of this day can be found journalled across Rovaria. It has been over 100 years since the great war but slowly but surely people are starting to feel uneasy again, Urraz has regained it's strength and there are whispers of attacks to the east. Some people feel the king is not doing enough to protect their lands and that he is only concerned with matters in the south. Corruption plagues the larger cities, with the notorious thieves guild the Talons roaming unchecked. The political climate is heating up across the kingdom as people mumur of discontent within the capitol. It is well known that the brother of the King, Lord Tarwin Amphion has long sought the throne and it may well be that he finally has the backing of enough people to make his move.
