Session I - A chip off the old block

It was a long journey to the town of Uxton, the home and birthplace of your good friend Domingus Alras. The town seems larger than Dom had mentioned in his old stories about the place. It is a strange feeling looking around and seeing the faces of your companions you had almost forgetten. Two years have passed since you were last together. An heir of sadness lingers, burying a friend is never easy. Dom brought you together, he allowed you to prosper and for many he helped you find your footing in this harsh World. Hand picked by the man, you all brought something to the band, and whilst danger was ever present together you overcame much in search of the magical relics Dom coveted. His ideas were sometimes foolhardy and the coin was good whilst you were working for him, but that is not the reason you went along, it was kinship and the man was ever persuasive. His death came as a shock but the circumstances surrounding it do not leave you feeling easy. From what little information you have gathered. Dom had been contracted to help with a recent archaelogical find, deep within the Uxton Mine. Dom and his companions were found cut to ribbons and the cleric at the funeral would not permit you to view the pieces of him they were able to retrieve. You have questions that can't go unanswered. The chilly walk upto Dom's house is a quiet one as you all take a moment to reflect on the somber events of the morning. Dom's assistant Thomas leads the way. A gangly middle aged man who looks like he does not see much of the sun. Upon approaching the house you are taken aback by the sheer size of the place, it is not so much a house as a manor. After passing through the unkept gardens, Thomas ushers you through the large wooden doors and into the house itself, the warmth of the reception hall is a pleasant shock to the system, as are the smells of meat wafting from the kitchen. Thomas motions for you all to sit down at the large oak dining table, dust wafts into your faces as you take your places. This has not been used in a long while. "Master Domingus left a will in the event that anything should befall him and requested you all be here if possible" Thomas opens the wax sealed envelope clears his throat and begins to read.
