The Book of Debts

"I will get you these special items you need and you will provide me with lets say...two favours I can cash in at any time from you.
No, three, as I have to travel through enemy territory to aquire them. Is that a fair offer for you?
...
Yes? Good!
Then we will have a deal.
Please give me your signature three times in this little book of mine.
...
Aand done! I will be on my way, dear sir!

Materials & Construction

The leather of the book emits a strange warmth as if the item itself is alive.

The paper of the pages are smooth and react strangely with ink by slurping it into the page rendering the ink glowing with a faint purple shine.

Looking at the pages is like looking through a window, as the writing appears to be behind the page instead of on the page.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The book of debts works quite simple. When bound to the soul of a holder, it allows the user to influence others.
But a few steps have to be taken first to control the living:

Step 1:
Get the person you desire to control to freely write their name into the book, each time the name got written provides on command before the debt is lifted.

Step 2:
Tell the person you want to control a clear spoken command, the book allows multiple sentences of commands if they all serve one purpose. If the targets inner moral compass allows the task to be done, the person feels a burning urge to follow the command until it's done. The burning won't stop until the task is fulfilled.

If however, the morality of the target doesn't allow the task to be carried out (example: commanding a pacifist to kill someone), the spell will simply fizzle not using up the debt.
The dept will not vanish unless the target or the holder dies.

The trick getting this item to work is bringing others to freely write their name in it, which can be the breaking point of its usage.
The current user, Furor Opilio, uses the book as a way to get paid for his work as a mercenary, not via ordinary money, but with unpredictable favours reaching from legal to highly illegal.
