Acolytes of the Old
"Been a while since I last took notice of someone speaking out your name in that context, Aetas.
As of this date, nearly 5000 years have passed.
What is dwelling in your divine heads ... cousins?"
An Organisation set to change the World
5000 years have passed since X-Genesis reorganized the world and fabricated a new origin to Prius' ancient times erasing themselves and their actions from history. A lingering past that slowly resurfaces as the eternal prisons of those who lost the erasure war grew brittle and weak and the voices of the old called out to raise champions of their cause, Acolytes who preach the words of blasphemy with a burning determination. The Eternal Counsel publicly called them out as heathens, who preach of false gods, putting a worldwide target on the Acolytes.
"These are just crazy mortals, who suffer from the fact that my cocoons need to be revised every couple of millennia.
If I can believe the reports of our brother Terminus, they are however not fully aware of what they meddle with here.
They are likely hallucinating and add their own beliefs to the feint whispers of the past, being overwhelmed by these divine words.
Aetas is after all the name of our moon as well.
But no matter, Justitia?
We should keep an eye on that sect."Notitia, goddess of Science
The Acolytes
Furor Opilio (4906 - )
Furor Opilio Portrait by Soulwing98
Not much is known about Furor's past prior to becoming a vessel for Speclux, the goddess of Passage, in 4906 AS. The only records of him in the 49th century are notes of his The Book of Debts having been in use to shape the world around his desires. Only with Videns as his partner in crime and lover had he started to found his business as 'The Wildcard', a portal-slinging Mercenary without morals. Furor uses his ever-growing list of names in his magic book to get the Acolytes anything they could possibly require, cashing in debts to gather intel for the organisation and plan his heists with Videns.
"My interests align with those of Speclux and Aetas.
I desire to experience the world shifting with each action we take.
How much can one small group do to shake the foundations of all that is given in the current time.?
I helped nations to raise and fall, the rise and fall of the gods is only the next natural step.
The fate of Prius is for the mortals to form and the immortals to judge."
Videns (4906 - )
Videns portrait by Soulwing98
Videns was the original first Acolyte, who stumbled across the cocoon of Aetas, the old god of time, back in 4902 AS. Guided by fate and his helpful gazes into her future went she and her boyfriend Furor, who she finally could preserve for eternity in his current age thanks to her new and powerful time magic, on a search for the cocoon of Aetas' wife, the ancient goddess of Passage Speclux. The two lovers had sworn to each other eternal duality, supported and encouraged by their gods and sworn in the same breath their loyalty to the Old, founding the organisation of today in 4906.
The sect first started out as a decades-long honeymoon of these two Acolytes, who became infamous as the 'Timeless Thieves' in the media stealing valuable artefacts and tools without ever having gotten caught or even seen. Artefacts to track down and find more of these cocoons, the prisons of the Old and recruit more Acolytes.
Videns is the gentle motherly leader of the sect, preaching the visions of time to support her companions in having a good life and be ready to do everything and anything to assure the return of the Old.
When Aetas nested his consciousness deep inside Videns' soul saw she briefly the repressed horrors of the past. And she understood why Aetas desired to set things straight.
It was the all-consuming guilt.
It was the all-consuming guilt.
Jesca Tausendschön (4964 - )
Jesca, Acolyte of Death by Soulwing98
Having witnessed the true atrocities of the Eternal Counsel, with them having disturbed the laws of creation and recreation, Jesca accepted the offer of the old god of the Dead Vorago to become his necromancing Vessel, the first messenger of death in 5000 years. She took it upon herself to allow the ancient suffering souls to finally pass the gate to the afterlife, with it having been closed since Vorago got banished into his cocoon. But with billions of souls to guide, she quickly realised that she needed more drastic methods to right that ancient wrong.
With great impatience Jesca waited in front of the painted rock deep in the catacombs below the city of Echterwalden. She heard of one singular mortal, who may be able to aid her in her quest, but with her standing now here all alone her thoughts ran astray and to her god Vorago. He was sure that that Wildcard was the right person for such a job, but couldn't explain why. A feeling. She scoffed, her skeletal jaw rattling in the silence of this remote place. Then the portal finally opened and she faced that elusive human, her heart skipping a beat. The voice of her god took her jaws in an instant and his spooky voice began laughing.
"So I am not the only one who felt that the time is right. Good to sense you, brother."

Pasir Riuh-Rehan (4990 - )
Pasir, Acolyte of Drought by Soulwing98
Pasir and his brother Pelukis joined the sect in a similar fashion as Jesca did, with the god Kemaru using him as his vessel calling out for the traces of the other gods having left fractions of them in others. His desire to become the ruler of Duvara and retaking the crown played into the hands of Furor's plans to reshape the world, making him a king of the new order.
"Your name is Kemaru? And you are the god of the deserts, drought and misery? And on top of that the guardian god of my country Duvara?
Hmm...Never heard of you. Like ever. There are no records of you anywhere. I have the feeling that you are just an imposter spirit trying to be something he is clearly not.
But if you are what you claim, show me your power. Give me an example of your divine entity."
An enormous shock struck Pasir's body. It felt as if all the atoms in his body are reconnecting themselves in a different pattern than usual in an instant and with every second passed Pasir started to feel more and more powerful.
He reaches out his hand. The scraping voice of Kemaru was guiding him. Pasir looks at his fingers as they suddenly dissolve into sand and are reforming into a huge blade holding the powers of the desert itself. This is no normal spirit. There is only one known that can grant this kind of magic and that spirit has already found a host.
This is different, unknown, more powerful and potent than anything he ever saw before. Kemaru might have said the truth after all.

Äala Onrust (4997 - ))
The hawk Äala joined the Acolytes only recently having caught wind of their doing through her oracle duties as a Sister of the Nest having connected her mind with the nest. A voice without a name spoke to her alone, having blessed her with powers unimaginable becoming a host to the master of the oracle nest. Äala has however no clue what powers got bestowed on her with her master keeping her in the dark till her time has come.
Äala aids the Acolytes as an Oracle regularly visiting The divine Basknut, the meeting point of the Acolytes, but has yet to find out what her part will be in the great plan of the sect.
"The oracle has spoken.
...
I don't like what Master has to add to your plans, Aetas.
Do we really have to involve that young lizard in our conquest?"
Micor Havenborn (4998 - )
Micor Portrait by Soulwing98
Micor is the newest member of the Acolytes, a doubtful honour he would trade in for anything else in the world.
Having gotten forcefully turned into a Taken sorcerer with Videns having gotten deceived by Aetas, his life turned upside down. All his former allies view him now as an unstable threat and Etherium set assassins on his throat finishing him before he causes any damage. He is forced to work alongside the Acolytes with them being his last safe haven and only unwillingly does his part in the great plan. For as he is the centre of Aetas' vision to get the upper hand over their enemies.
He is not 'yet' a vessel of a god, but with his corruption getting worse day by day divine intervention may be his only chance to live to see their plan coming to fruition.

Headquarters
The Acolytes usually operate in smaller groups to tackle multiple agendas at once. But with Furor having made the Divine Basknut a thing, a restaurant in the capital city of their sworn enemy, the Acolytes and their allies regularly meet up in their private lodge to discuss their plans and experience Äala's oracle visions. With the Basknut granting not only her but them all a better and more clear connection to their respective gods, these sittings sometimes get entirely overtaken by the Old, causing the non-acolytes to experience the other self of their allies discussing divine matters. Usually when that happens leave Micor, Pelukis and Tess the meeting and enjoy themselves in the vivid restaurant underneath talking to the staff, as the mere presence of the divine voices causes them headaches.
Allies
Pelukis Riuh-Rehan (4990 - )
Pelukis the mad by Soulwing98
Pelukis joined the Acolytes on his brother's behalf despite not being chosen himself. He hangs out with the Acolytes due to his unwavering loyalty to Pasir and has aided them in multiple instances as a method of transportation. On the back of his Gravette pet friend Mimi is located a smaller mobile base of the Acolytes they sometimes use to get to places Furor's portals don't cover.
Pelukis is the eccentric tomb raider of the group, a hothead with an interest in the relics of the past. Also, a bit of a loose cannon when neither Pasir nor Mimi are around. A crazy person with dubious morals, who is however dependable when it matters.
Pelukis only felt pride bellowing up in his gut as he witnessed how the strange being in the cocoon chose his brother as its vessel. Not a single smidge of envy gushed over him for he believed in his brother to be the rightful ruler of Duvara and therefore more than worthy to accept this powerful ally as his own. He will follow Pasir through heaven and hell and back and he knows that he would do the same for him, no matter the whispering new embrace to his soul.
Pelukis put the pickaxe aside and happily embraced his brother, before noticing a sudden drought taking him in a storm. he looked down in shock as his left arm shriveled up, a tribute to the being of drought inside Pasir. But he didn't scream nor complain, letting his metal reserves reinforce and encase the boney arm and through the pain, he bowed his head to his brother, swearing his loyalty to him no matter what will happen.
"This power will serve us well in reclaiming our birthright, brother!"

Tess (4998 - )
Tess is only part of the sect due to her great worry about her linked partner Micor. Micor found her on one of his corrupted rampages through the villages of Etherium, nearly dead in the gutters. In an attempt to get back control over the onmarching suffering he had to endure gave he willingly a few years of his spent life cleaning the Automaton of all that radioactive waste in her hollow body, saving her. Tess has sworn her eternal gratitude to her saviour and took on the sad role of being his anchor to sanity to keep on living till the plan finally comes to fruition. They care for each other like a couple, valuing the other more than they value anybody else.
With burning eyes observed Tess every member of that so-called group of saviours. Pain resonated in her bolt-like voice as she asks in the round what keeps her around these devils incarnate. But she first makes sure that her friend is not around.
"Can you really call yourself a new chance for Prius when your first relevant action is to utterly destroy the life of Micor? And don't come with your crap of having great plans for him. Setting him up against his raven dad and harvesting his hatred to take his place amidst your enemies ... you are playing gods with his fate. I tell you! ... Don't you dare let my friend fall even deeper. Even I struggle to get a smile out of him recently."
Tess' eyes widened even more as she finally understood their true plans, with them laying them out to her.
"Y-you ... you all belong in the asylum you broke Micor out of ... after putting him into the very same. This is nuts! You are nuts!

You definitely hit this one. I love all the people arts - Jesco and her purple were probably my favorite though. Her design and colors appealed to my eye balls. I really liked how this one has so much in-world quotes and happenings in it. Like, I can feel that there's so much depth here. I also super liked this part ; The voice of her god took her jaws in an instant and his spooky voice began laughing. The idea of the Acolyte of death being used in such a way, because of how she's comprised, was so neat to me.
I definitely tried to make this specific article has as much lore-related depth to it. With them all being only really related in their ambitions they needed good reasons and a personal motivation to be an acolyte. We have it all, altruism to selfish gains up to a forced membership. And yess, jesca is awesome. Honestly neither she nor Vorago meet the standard death god/acolyte quota. I view her more as a Shepard of the souls and him as the concerned owner after a way too long absense.
