Aegean and his mother were at the farmer's market when bandits began their attack on the town of Theravia. Eloise was fatally wounded by a sword striking her back and bled out while hiding her son from the attackers. Aegean could not find his father and discovered their house had burned to the ground.
Hoping to find his father at his offices in Sudbury, Aegean walked starving and stumbling for three days down the river. His father was nowhere to be found and elves were being gathered for questioning. Aegean hid his ears and began to beg for food. He realized he could earn more coin and less glares by selling flowers. He gathered wildflowers at first and then began to cut finer blooms from noble men's gardens. He sold flowers for the next 3 months on the streets of Sudbury.
