Defences
The settlement was built into the base of a cliff. A large cavity in the cliff allowed the pioneers to build dwellings 200m into the cliff. The town faces south into the Great Wates with the southern edge of the cliff a km drop down and north side of the cliff with a series of eroded monoliths which assisted the builders in turning them into a full stone wall.
Industry & Trade
Rodawervs (a flightless dragonette) are an indigenous creature, the size of a pony, that lives in the mountainous plateau. Their meat is what the settlement live on, but more importantly, the hide and claws are used in the manufacture if wyrmhide armour. Trobe has a master armourer and a dozen assistants creating armour that is traded with Hillfor for grain, vegetables, spices, and money.
Infrastructure
The site which Trobe occupies was chosen due to its natural defenses and easy access underground stream the head towards the Great Northen Barrier. Over time a well-worn trade road has been created towards the larger Town of Hillfor. A large ancient viewing platform is the most prominent structure in the village, dwarfing all other buildings. It is generally accepted that the ancients build the platform, but its exact purpose has been lost to the village, although it provides the best view of the southwest wastes a km below.
A tannery and armour smith's forge are the most well cared for and well-used buildings in Trobe, for they provide the settlements only source of tradable income.
Geography
Trobe is one of the highest points on the Great Northern Barrier, a km high cliff that dominates the Great Wastes for thousands of kilometers. It is a mountainous area with sparse vegetation and small pockets of taller trees in sheltered valleys facing east, away from the cold westerly winds.
