Didactism
Didactism - Knowledge, experience and their acquisition is what matters. Accumulating knowledge and experience is the core of sentient life and what separates sentients from animals. Secrets should never be kept lightly.
Didacts can be anything from archaeologists to tinkers, librarians to wizards, scholars to thrill seekers and explorers. They view knowledge as a currency, a means to an end as well as the end itself. People who have felt powerless in their lives often turn to didactism, the knowledge giving them a measure of control that they couldn't get on their own.
Didacts tend to be curious and usually intelligent.
STRENGTHS – Didactists can become immensely successful and powerful, operating within a ‘knowledge economy’ that can greatly advance learning and technology forward.
WEAKNESSES – Didactists can go too far seeking knowledge, finding knowledge that is dangerous to learn, pass on, possess or acquire.
EXAMPLES – The freelance spy that publishes pamphlets filled with state secrets, The wizard who has only accidentally unleashed a whipstitched monstrosity onto the nearby town two and a half times. The gourmand that wishes to sample every dish on the continent.
