"The keebs really do talk to the trees. The Low Elves do, anyway. It's their Imeárahon trees, they're about as smart as sheep, maybe a little more. They can be... reasoned with. If you know the language. Mostly they use it to make homes and things, sometimes weapons. Every once in a while you get one that really gets wise and asks the trees for violence. I make it my very special mission to kill those elves in particular and burn some forest down."   ~Archmage Dulacar, of the Brass Tower

Utility

Greenspeak is typically used simply to build elf homes. It can be used in the manufacture of a wide array of wooden goods, as well as in spycraft, defense, and other less savory things.

Manufacturing

Greenspeak is a very special, magic-infused accent of the Sylvan tongue that Imeárahon trees find pleasant to listen to. In the suggestible state, the trees are vulnerable to suggestion.
Inventor(s)
Elves regard Hiniel Leratha as the folkloric first Greenspeaker.
Access & Availability
Only a few of the Wood Elves really know the secret, and if anyone else were to find out the technique they could expect unrelenting assassination attempts from dusk until dawn for the rest of their likely short lives, be they kings or paupers.
Discovery
Tree-singing, tree whispering, greenspeak, etc. was the primary labor responsibility of the Wood Elves in the La'shei culture. It is a very old art.
