Marshal Gravewood
Sheriff Marshal Gravewood (a.k.a. The Shadow)
"Marshal Gravewood, the corrupt Sheriff in charge of the Northroad District in the city of Krezzym, is a vile and conniving individual. He possesses a dark, menacing charisma that allows him to manipulate and instill fear in the hearts of those who cross his path. Gravewood is motivated solely by his own self-interest, and he uses his position of power to exploit the impoverished residents of the slum for personal gain. He revels in the chaos and despair of the district, thriving on the suffering he inflicts upon its inhabitants. Cunning and ruthlessness are the hallmarks of his character, as he goes to great lengths to maintain his grip on power, even if it means dealing with sinister forces." ~The Bard Meikal Grigkennen

General Physical Condition
Marshal Gravewood is a tall and imposing figure, standing at around six and a half feet. He possesses a gaunt, skeletal frame, giving him an eerie appearance that seems unnatural even for the grueling conditions of the slum. His skin is pale and sallow, almost sickly, contrasting sharply with his piercing, cold blue eyes. Gravewood's hair is thin and wispy, a matted gray that hangs unkemptly around his face. Personal history
Gravewood's sordid history is shrouded in mystery, adding to his enigmatic presence. Rumors circulate that he once served as a soldier in a brutal war, witnessing unimaginable horrors that twisted his psyche.
Gravewood was a mercenary in his younger days, and was hired by Blythopoly to fight a war against a cyst of Yugoloths and a rebel cult of Shadar-Kai that served them. While he was only gone a few months of real time, the war and his part in it dragged on for fifteen brutal, bloody years. The atrocities he witnessed and committed would haunt a man still possessed of a conscience. These experiences left him disillusioned with society and its institutions, leading him to embrace the darkness that lurks within him. Seeking an outlet for his newfound cruelty, he eagerly accepted an offer from a malevolent entity lurking in the shadows, plunging him further into corruption.
The entity Gravewood serves is actually his own wretched soul, torn from his body in an early battle of the war and awkwardly stitched back onto his still breathing carcass as a sentient wraith, full of spite and hatred.

The monster grants him supernatural powers and protection in exchange for the Sheriff's unwavering loyalty and the souls of the district's residents. Gravewood carries out its bidding, using fear and intimidation to maintain control over the slum and ensure a steady stream of victims for his malevolent master.
