Personal history
Uvrol Varenthok's life has been marked by tragedy and survival. Born to a mother mortally wounded by an undead wight, she was saved by a chirurgeon's skillful hands at birth. Raised amidst the war orphans and camp followers of the 3rd Hobgoblin Legion, she learned early on the harsh realities of the world.
Her world shattered when the 3rd Legion was brutally annihilated by the orc clan known as the Toughskulls, in coordination with the 20th Legion. Uvrol, along with a few other civilians who escaped being rounded up, found refuge in a cave nestled in the Terror Mountains. To her surprise, this cave turned out to be a small temple dedicated to Orcus, the demon prince of undeath. Here, she discovered ancient books and tablets detailing dark rituals to commune with Orcus.
Driven by desperation, Uvrol struck a pact with Orcus, forging a connection to the realm of undeath. Over the years, she and her fellow survivors from the 3rd Legion have visited the battlefields of the Greenskins, collecting the remains of fallen warriors to raise them as an unholy legion. The Greenskins have come to fear them, referring to her group as the "0th Legion," and they whisper her name in hushed tones, dubbing her the "Celedon Queen" due to the sickly hue of her greenskin zombies.
It is unknown what Uvrol Varenthok offered Orcus, but it is a safe bet that she was not given the sort of power she has just out of a sense of charity.
