Appointment

Villeins are granted deeds to lands surrounding a settlement by the Manerets of that settlement. It is often a way for families to establish themselves before being invited into the town as a full clan themselves.

Duties

Villeins feed the various towns of The Maecodian Confederation and are typically responsible for the harvest and exploitation of resources.

Responsibilities

Villeins are responsible for fulfilling the terms of their deed. These deeds come with obligations, typically a tax or duty to the town in the form of resources. They usually keep the rest for themselves or send it to markets for sale.

Benefits

Villeins get exclusive harvest rights for resources on their property. If successful or faithful enough, they may be invited into the town or city as full Manerets .

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

Villeins can be removed by a majority vote of Maneret. They may also sell their deed.
