The College of Questions is founded in opposition to the Mage's Guild
The College of Questions is founded, apparently in response and opposition to the Mage’s Guild’s laissez-faire attitude towards “dark magics.” In particular, they were opposed to the Towers of Bone and Brass, which were primarily occupied by necromancers and warmages, respectively.
