Humanity begins feeling the warp of the spellplague, the goblins flee to the Badlands, and the Halfling Trynwyse Ghostwise assassinates the Goblin High King Baduric.

The goblin armies routed through the human lands, spreading the magical plague. Through horrific and culturally scarring methods, the manitari, the shifters, and the changelings were all born. Most of the goblins melted upon the slopes of the Barriers, finally destroyed by the plague. The remaining legions returned to the badlands and their city of Daan Shagkec. Before he could sit upon the throne he had built, The High Goblin King Baduric was assassinated by a Halfling named Melani Ghostwise, who promptly disappeared. Maecodia negotiated a cease-fire with the goblins. The Ruinous Years end.
