The Quiet Years end with a whimper, with one town within Eldermeare attacking another town in an escalated feud over livestock. The result was a tactical and strategic draw, but both ranchers involved were killed. Rapidly, towns asserted their own rights to utilize their militias and a set of rules for inter-town warfare were laid in to minimize the damage.
