Due to the possibility that witches were behind the assassination of the last Edler, Edler Basin empowers the College of Questions to send out inquisitors in their masses.

Edler Basin received intelligence that Erastan was killed by a storm called up by witchraft. The College of Questions receives an influx of money for a Second Inquisition. Witch hunters flood the countryside. The Mage’s Guild trains advocates to chase down potential targets of the inquisitors and prepare a legal defense of them. They are known as advocates. Their role quickly expands to include all sorts of legal defenses.
