The First Coalition assassinates the dragon Ekraktiax

After a generation of hiding from the invaders and living like animals, two heroes emerge to rally the humans. Havanneni Gorbil was a sorceress of great renown, and the other is Kerwyn, a warrior famous for slaying a basilisk that had been rampaging the countryside. Havanneni joins forces with Kerwyn and the two gather the six best fighters they can find. Instead of meeting the dragon's army in open battle, they devise a plan to corner and assassinate the beast.   On the eighth of Latespring, they attacked Ekatriax in his sleep. The six warriors were all injured but survived. They reported that Kerwyn had been swallowed but cut his way out of the dragon's stomach and was dying of his wounds when Havanneni triggered a collapse of the cavern, sealing all three inside with untold riches of the dragon's hoard. This final tomb has never been rediscovered.   The scalykind army cuts ties with Shelor out of fear of punishment for failing to protect their master, but remains as an occupying force in Seaudyr.
