An election for a new edler charged with protection of the realm results in a majority abstention and a delayed result.

An election occurs where the two primary candidates are extremely unpopular. Elector Fabian of Eldermeare was a Goliath warlord known for violence against his own people, and his opponent was Grand Necrom Blightosam, the leader of a cult known as the Devotees of Tenebrous, who worshipped a “God of Darkness, Death, and the Secrets of Blood.” No other electors wished to oppose them, but none wanted to vote for them either.
