A plague sweeps the city environs of Maecodia's largest settlements, and the dead rise as undead.

The Building Years abruptly end with a plague of undeath. One in ten humans die and the resultant undead army appears poised to wipe out the living humans. The Elves’ response to the humans’ pleas is to withdraw into the Feywild. The dwarves consider the surface to be quarantined and close off their access gates.
