Vampire

The pseudo-science behind the feeding habits of vampires. (or why there should be a podcast where authors talk about weird google searches they have made)   Assumptions (those things you make to make the math easy)
  1. Average Red Blood cells live roughly 120 days
  2. The average person has 10 pints of blood.
  3. Hemorrhagic shock starts to occur at roughly 20% blood loss, with loss of consciousness usually occurring between 30-40% blood loss. (for the sake of argument, we will say vampire are noticeably hungry at 20% "blood loss" feeding madness sets in at 30% and at 40% the vampire falls into a catatonic state)
  4. Vampires dont need calories, the living blood cells of humanoids allows for the channeling of the magic that keep the vampire in a state of undeath.
So in order to stay topped of, as it were, a vampire would need to consume one pint of blood every 12 days assuming that they are not doing any vampire-y magic stuff and just sort of existing.
