The Great Exitium

The exact nature of the Great Exitium is unknown, but its effects are widespread. The western and southern land of Komos was magically altered into what is now called the Rovine, with the untouched area of Komos being labeled as Chao. Because of the world shattering impact on civilization, all calendars mark the Great Exitium, as the first day in year 0.

All historical accounts of that day are second hand interviews of individuals claiming to have been present to witness the Great Exitium. As such, there are many contradictions, but the most reputable sources all agree on one thing; during the midst of a major battle, on the plains of the south western coast of Komos, the fighting stopped as soldiers of every front saw the sky grow yellow, orange, red, and then black. The darkness in the sky then engulfed everyone's vision.   Multiple soldiers claim to remember waking up and seeing their entire legion dead. Soldiers of both sides of the conflict tell this same "sole survivor" tale. Some of these survivors reportedly joined together to make the journey towards Chao, and gave the very first report to Elven historians.
