The Odeum Theatre Massacre

The Odeum Theatre Massacre (otherwise referred to as 'The Odeum Incident) was a well-executed ambush of Waterdeep's aristocratic class at the now infamous Odeum Theatre in 1495. After being lured into what was promised as a 'once-in-a-lifetime' performance, the attendees were mercilessly assaulted by various undead, under the apparent command of a dark hag.   A small group of survivors mentioned the heroic actions of several members of The 21st Legion who were fortunately in attendance and rallied to defend the innocents. Many of them died in the process, most notably General Pelonius Nobei of House Shishak.   The horrifying events took place during a gala evening commissioned by Lord Mirt . It featured a performance of a new play by Simbram Sandovar called Miching Mallecho .   The extent of the carnage was such that news travelled all along The Sword Coast. Theatre houses were shuttered and the performing arts grew stagnant. Playwrights became a target of the citizens' fears and were forced to leave the great cities and ply their trades in faraway lands.   Although rumours of who was responsible spread broadly, it has been officially marked as 'Unsolved.'   If anyone has information or details that could assist in solving this crime, they are advised to contact their local Highwarden immediately.
