Overview
The Library Dragon - who is later called "Lib" by her beloved companion - is a brown
Dragon who was living in the north of the
Long Neck mountain range. She had made a name for herself as she was prowling down the mountains to collect books, tomes, stone plates or whatever has a language inscribed on or in it.
Those things she brought into her cave where she hoarded and read them. She is an unique kind of Dragon, under normal circumstances Dragons do not speak with mortals and rarely with each other. Since Dragons only communicate with some kind of telepathy or feelings - because of their mouths not being able to recreate a lot of words - it was difficult for her to learn Dvergtunga, Common Speech, Elvish or Garladan.
Because of her thirst for knowledge she sometimes forgets to sleep or drink. Not to eat because food is good. And she is one of the few Dragons who hasn't had the need to procreate, as seldom as it is.
A different kind of persuasion
She was persuaded on the 17th of Astralon in the year 7760 by
Siegfrey and
Wherda of the Golden Sun Bloodline during the
Dragon Sun Empire to be the keeper and headmaster of the
Dragon Sun Library. She does had a few helping librarians in the past, but now she is the only one and she wants to keep it that way.
Not that it caused any trouble. People who treat the library and the contents poorly are never welcomed again. Or seen. Depends. And even when she just nibbles, it hurts. A lot. And don't forget that she still can breathe fire.
"Never had roasted Garladan before. Can you bring me one? This Underling was a bit too crispy for my liking." — Lib to a shocked group of adventurers who were mean to the Library

Being the leading librarian
During the Dragon Sun Empire she had a few fellow librarians, mostly humans, to help her. But after the fall of the Empire and the rise of the kingdom of
Hulwar only ten servants are attending the library and only for helping Lib. She cataloged and ordered books, tomes, parchment rolls, tablets of clay and stone and everything else in her own, relatively logical system. The servants repair shelves, the library, help to replace her blankets, feed her sometimes and keep the library clean. They are not allowed to move or re-organise the contents of the library, only, when Lib has given the order to do so.
In spite of her need to sleep she only sleeps around six hours, which is a quick nap for every dragon. Then she eats, organises the library, reads lists of books which are available for order - she doesn't have glasses, but that would look cute, aye? - and checks the library if everything is in order.
"Headmaster?"
"Yes, child?"
"We have found the forgotten tome of Wirsil. It costs one-fifty Hulwar gold coins or threehundred Pisocenian silvermark or seventy elvish Silverleaves."
"If it is really the original tome, order it. Or better, make the journey. Let them show it to you. And if it is authentic, buy it."
"Yes, Headmaster."
