Personal history
Terusius is the child of Dacci immigrants who had journeyed to Calpi to start a new life. Just as they were entering the city gates, on the 12th day of Shraksik in the year 1429 LE, a young blue dragon fell upon the city wall near the gate, partially collapsing it. Terusius' parents were among four civilians crushed by the rubble. The dragon was defeated, though all Terusius remembers is the collapse of the wall, being trapped beneath the rubble, then being dragged out beside his slain parents' bodies.
He since made his way the best he could, learning quickly to survive on the streets. Unfortunately, he stole a significant sum of coin from a merchant who hired a goliath to retrieve it. The goliath, named Irru, found Terusius and reclaimed the gold, but took pity on Terusius. He have the boy a light hammer and taught him the rudiments of its use. Then, he gave the boy a sum of money equal to the amount he had originally stolen and bade him to make a better life - one that didn't rely on stealing from others.
He went the very next day and paid every cent to become a mason's assistant. If he proves himself, he could become an apprentice at age fifteen.
