Personal history
Tvumkez was born into the Nlil family in the village of Tjaan. As a child, whe was troublesome, because she would not do her chores on time or pay attention to her work. Over time, her grandmother Pvilkhang chastised her more and more harshly, attempting to bring the girl in line, but Tvumkez was unable to conform to the rigid expectations of her family and of Dagfian culture.
In her early teens, things came to a head. Pvilkhang died, as the old do, and Tvumkez, remembering the harsh treatment her grandmother had imposed upon her, refused to join the family's mourning. In response, her aunt Mliurvoji (the new pre, or matriarch, of the family) imposed the Nriuz upon Tvumkez, formally casting her out of Dagfian society and branding her face to make sure all knew her status.
Tvumkez was forced to wander the wilds and eventually, malnourished and sick, she laid down a stream to die. She did not know that her life was about to begin, for Tamahkarliq came to her and offered to save her in return for lifelong service. At first Tvumkez refused, but Tamahkarliq explained that her service required the destruction of order and the advancement of chaos. Only half-believing this unexpected savior, she nonetheless assented and became a servant of the Grandmother of Woe.
Tamahkarliq taught Tvumkez many things and granted her many powers, including how to obscure the brand on her face. Tvumkez settled in Dagfieh, where she has served Tamahkarliq in ways great and small ever since.
