Art & Architecture

Architecture

The Wakt build in both timber and stone, which is usually plastered with clay, then painted in bright colors. Structures have peaked sod roofs.

Settlements are always built around a central well or spring. Immediately around this water source, there will be the meeting hall or municipal palace, a multi-purpose shrine devoted to the full Khuldaag pantheon, and an open-air area for festivals, assemblies, and other celebrations.

Art

The Wakt elaborately paint the insides of their homes and public buildings with murals and frescoes. The subject matter is wide and varied. It might depict a scene or figure from myths or legends, or it may simply be an idyllic scene.

Likewise, the Wakt are famed for their black-glazed terra cotta pottery, which features etched geometric designs that expose the underlying salmon-colored clay to create a striking effect of orange-on-black.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

The Wakt have no love for dragons, but they have excellent relations with kobolds, whom they see as victims of their more powerful draconic kin.

Funerary and Memorial customs

The Wakt build elaborate subterranean tombs.
