Myrddin

Mage Lord of Eldoria (a.k.a. The Seer, Lord of Mages, The First Wizard)

Myrddin is a Mage Lord of the Eldorian Empire, a long and nearly-forgotten kingdom that stands as the predecessor to all of the current Korrisian civilizations except The Silver Empire of Alithanar. Myrddin was a being of godlike power and potential, and had supreme mastery over the Winds of Magic. The Wizard was a powerful seer and a shrewd advisor, who stood second to the First Emperor of Eldoria. 
It was Myrddin who had discovered magics that could reach levels above 9th, and he who had crafted many of these spells, now outlawed by the goddess Mystra. Myrddin believed that magic could be utilized to make the world more beautiful, safer, and exciting. Being one not to shy away from adventure, Myrddin would disappear from the Palace for years at a time to adventure with mercenaries and heroes to learn more about the world. When he wasn't adventuring, Myrddin traveled the many planes seeking all knowledge and wisdom. Many believe that Myrddin is the father or ancestor to the wizard Elminster Aumar.
Myrddin is the last known Eldorian to exist. After the First Emperor scorched the entire civilization from Korrisian Space with his edict, Myrddin remained to act as a steward and caretaker for the capitol city of Eldoria, floating endlessly in the Astral Sea. The last known individuals to make contact with Myrddin was the Rogue Chosen of Mask, Azure, and the Vampire Kas the Bloody-Handed. It was believed after their final encounter that Myrddin's essence faded from existence, marking the extinction of the Eldorian civilization. 
Others believe that Myrddin simply merged with the Winds of Magic and exists now as a piece of magic itself.
