In the Northern Tier of the Empire, the largest city of the region came under attack by two unknown Spelljammer frigates, later identified as two Githyanki Assault Cruisers. The Cruisers unleashed a vicious salvo of void-cannon fire effectively destroying most of the city.   The attack began approximately at sunrise, just as the Redshield Guards were rotating shifts. The initial blasts struck the Speaker's Palace, the Barracks, and the Armory. With at the very least 65% of the Redshields already eliminated, the Cruisers turned to fire on all structures that could potentially become concerning: Magic Item shops, blacksmiths and armorsmiths, even the Taverns should mercenaries or adventurers be inside.   It is estimated that 55% of the city's population were killed in the 32 minutes that the Cruisers continually fired on the city. The Heroes of Yarrin were inside the city during the time of the siege, and had taken control of a Githyanki Skiff to board the enemy Cruisers in attempt to disable them.
