Duncan the Monk

Duncan was originaly meant to become a soldier for Fort Rognal. He recieved battle training and a decent education as a child. However during his training and mostly due to a very charismatic teacher he became aware that this was not a life suited for him. Also as he grew in an aldault his physique proved to be somewhat non typical for a soldier. He had a very small build and his main talent was agility rather than strength. A little before he would come of age and take up soldier duties, and under the realisation that he would probably never be the ideal soldier he snaped and decided to explore the world in search for a destiny more suited for him. He left Fort Rognal and headed north, picking up some quite strange acoitances along the way.

Travels

Duncan after leaving Fork Rognal in order to support himself would usualy get hired as a guard for travelers and merchants. He proved to be quite good at it and eventualy was offered a long term job from a scollar that wanted to travel to the north coast and crartograph the place. Duncan accepted and departed on the long journey. Along it he came upon what would be later named Oldpost and was overtaken by the morphology of the place. This is when he got the idea of making it a home for himself. During his travels he grew more wise and started forming a philosophy about life. Among with the Cartographer Milo who became a very close friend the mapped almost the whole north coast and kept the record in the logs they named "An exploration of the unexplored North"

Oldpost

After the explorations with Milo and as his friend would return to civilization since his age would no longer allow him to travel, Duncan found the oportunity to finaly return th the column-rocks and make a life there. Initialy he spented his time just surviving and training to new fighting styles that gave more emphasis to balance and speed. His first students arrived out of coincidence as the survivors of a boat accident where they lost their only surving parent. Duncan saw their boat crash and rushed to their aid. After helping them and realising that they were two young to continue life on their ouwn he ofered them the option to stay with him and train to be soldiers. This was also aproved from the vilage the orphans originateed from since the vilagers were aware of the monk and his history. This was the start of Duncans school of the martial arts and also theway he gained the title monk as his students had no other title to adress him by. In the teaching Duncan found the peace of mind he was looking for and ended u managing what was considered the most effecting soldier training place in the continent. The first to students never left but the ones that followed stread the fame and brought even more students there.

An exploration of the unexplored North

One year after Milo the Chartographer died, Duncan recieved a packet full of his unpublished work that he had entrusted to him. Although Milo had plenty of acointences in the scolar world he had chosen Duncan to hold on to his works since he trusted him most to take good care of it. Duncan took good care of the documents, made some copies and organised them well. After his death they were burried with him on one of the most unreachable tops of the coloumn-rocks of the coastline.
