Cæpton

Cæpton is the Capital of Etaikí. it was historically also the capital of the Asterian province of Nis until the Etaikí rebellion.
Cæpton is an ancient Weallander city, and it was long the centre of the Weallander world. It is the worlds largest trading port by far, and its massive shipyards, built during Asterian rule, are often counted as the eighth wonder of the world.
The city was a shadow of its former self when it fell to Asterian invasion. Years of plague and war with other city states of the Cæp Islands left it weakened and unable to mount resistance.
It saw a long period of recovery and growth under the rule of Aster. The port served as the home base of the Asterian navy until the great Calamity. The city fell to the Etaikí rebellion after the great Calamity. And now it serves as the capital of the mercantile state. Though the call for Weallander independence has never been louder.
