Glachtir

The dwarves of Glachtir are the last remnant of the ancient great Dwarven realms of Estomi. The Dwarves built giant cities, holds, roads, mines and entire kingdoms in the great mountain ranges of Estomi. For thousands of years they ruled the continent from their mountain holds, while the Elves still confided themselves to Fuscus, Giants roamed the open plains, and humans were striking rocks together far to the east. What brought the dwarves low is subject to heated debate. Even the dwarves themselves have scant little information on the events that lead to the Dwarven Collapse. The general consensus among Asterian scholars is that Dwarven realms had been declining for a few centuries before their meteoric fall after the Destruction of Fuscus. The Dwarves of Estomi were stricken by plague, dealing with human migrations from the east, and Dwarven unity had fractured. The final nail in the coffin was the great war between Dwarves & Elves. The Dwarves unified one last time and marched upon the elves, claiming that the elves were withholding the cure for their plague. The giant dwarven host came down upon Fuscus and utterly destroyed the Elven kingdom. This enraged the gods, Tuma and Raka, and the dwarves faced their wrath and were swallowed by the earth. The Dwarves were beset upon by the vengeful Elves, and the ancestors of Zimnakraj. Like dominoes, the dwarven realms fell. Glachtir, once a minor dwarven realm, was the last one standing. Glachtir sued for a humiliating peace with the Humans and Elves after centuries of war and toil. Since then, Glachtir has attempted to reconquer Dwarven lands many times. Though all attempts were unsuccessful.

Now, Glachtir has found its niche as a civilization of craftsmen and smiths. Their trade is valuable to all human states. But Glachtir is stirring, ancient holds have been repopulated, and forges are burning hot. The Dwarves are readying for war.
