Vectir
The Principality of Vectir is a successor state of the Republic of Aster.
During the Chaos of the 590s, Vectirian nobility intended to stay loyal to the Republic. In desperate need of military, financial and humanitary aid, the ragtag government affirmed its loyalty to Aster, and asked the senate for help. The Senate informed them that there was nothing they could do. And thus Vectir was forced into independence.
One noble was elected prince by the other nobles, and through his capable leadership, Vectir managed to secure its borders.
Now it is one of the most prosperous states in the world, as it controls the important north-south trade route past the Veins of Fuscus. However, the Principality is tethering on the edge of a civil war. The previous prince suddenly passed away, and the resulting noble elections concluded in a tie. With neither candidate willing to back down, it looks as if the stability of the realm may soon be broken.
