Book Worlds
When individuals engage with a book placed into The Narrative Device, their minds and perhaps astral spirits are transported to a realm that resembles the places and events described in that book. While the machine is active, the corporeal bodies of those individuals remain inert and seated at the Device in the tower of Goblin Manor in the Great Bibliopolis, but the experiences within the book world are shared and corroborated by all who partake. Whether these places literally exist somewhere in the Multiverse and the Device merely allows astral visitation, or the Device itself creates artificial worlds for the sitters' minds to inhabit remains uncertain.
