Scuttleglen

A colony of rock gnome tinkerers and wizards make their home in a series of caves in Mount Cuna underneath the city of Quan. A naturally-occurring source of wild magic creates unpredictable effects on spells cast there, and also affects the growth of abnormally large, edible mushrooms that the gnomes process into various substances—flour for a tasty green bread, an unusual mushroom wine, a flammable oil for lamps and machinery, and specialised magical inks—many of which the gnomes supply to the stocks and stores of the Great Bibliopolis. The colony sits on an entrance to the Underdark, which sometimes provides an entrance for undesirable creatures. Kingra and Ryke discovered a sapient, talking Mimic that devoured several gnomes and scared King Korboz into losing his mind and locking himself and his husband in their chambers. The mimic, dubbed "Balsamic", was captured alive and is currently imprisoned in Fastandia's extraplanar mansion.
