Ork
Basic Information
Anatomy
Orcs (ork in the singular masculine, orc in the feminine and orcs in the plural feminine), a people with green skin and imposing stature. They are generally rather small compared to humans, and very massive, sometimes a little fat, in order to better survive the Septrial winters, they are however not covered with hair, like humans. The most impressive thing about Orcs is that they have a much more carnivorous jaw than humans or dwarves, with prominent canines, sometimes protruding from the mouth.
Biological Traits
There is not many differences between male and female orks, except for the breasts and the smoother face.
Genetics and Reproduction
Curiously, ork's gestation is a bit longer than human, it can go to a full year.
Growth Rate & Stages
Ork's child grow a bit faster than a human, with important muscular growth in the 10 to 16 years period, even for female.
Ecology and Habitats
Ork tend to prefer cold steppes to the cool climate of Meridia; The high mountains of Alkalia are appreciated by Ork's diplomats and banished.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Orks tend to be a bit more carnivorous than humans, but still feed on a lot of vegetables.

Ork males tend to be a bit more focussed on muscles and a bit less on intelligence, orks women are true self-taught scholars, especially when it comes to medical, pharmaceutical and alchemical knowledge.

They tend to have a slightly better hearing than human, and sometimes a better sight too, They do not feel magic as well as human and elves as a species, but some ork are born with it.

Average Technological Level
Ork refuse to see technologies destroying the nature they are bound by religion to preserve. The Orcs specialise in the construction of stone and wooden fortresses; in the great plains, and on mountainsides. They are gifted at forging, and use nature to their advantage, training wild animals such as hairy trolls, tigers or horses. Today, if they did not force themselves to live in seclusion, they would surely be as powerful as the elves, they might even have invaded us, and be the most important race in Merida.

Leather and sap-based polymers. Nothing fancy, only efficient clothes.

The tradition of talking to ancient spirits every last day of the month. And to worship nature.

History
Orc history is rather confused and difficult to trace. They themselves have few collections of their past. All that is known is that they are more or less the ancestors of the other three races, and that they explored the whole continent, and the Akeidre Islands, and even the continent of Az'atmas. It was the exploration of this continent that led Orc culture and history to its loss; bringing the dragons back with them to the territory of Septrial, they were enslaved, destroyed. It was through their strength and determination that they managed to hold the dragons in Septrial, giving free rein to the war between elves and humans. During the fall, it was the dwarves who, by rising to the surface, helped the orcs to free themselves completely from their chains.

Marakh wallslicer, an Alkalian monk who was an orphan ork raised by dwarven monks.
Common Myths and Legends
The shamanism says that the ghosts of ancestors roam in the city, and that some bees living underground give sapience to those they sting.
