Lolth

Who is Lolth:

Lolth is known as the Queen of Spiders as well as the Queen of the Demonweb Pits, she is the most influential goddess of the drow. Lolth has her followers do multiple rituals many include sacrifices. Like Shar Lolth found herself in a lot of conflicts during her life, but Lolth had many even before she because a deity, though the 'War of the Spider Queen' happened shortly after she had turned herself into a powerful goddess, and turned the demonweb pits into an independent plane.After a while she became silent it was known as the 'Silence of Lolth' She became completely inactive and no longer granted spells or communed with her followers. Her son Vhaeraun took advantage of the situation and tried to assassinate his mother. She was seriously injured, but later saved by Selvetarm.
When she finally awoke a year later, she called for three candidates to become her Chosen and finalize her transformation: Danifae Yauntyrr, Quenthel Baenre and Halisstra Melarn. The first two came on their own to the Demonweb Pits, the last one was sent by Eilistraee (her daughter) to kill Lolth. However, in the Demonweb Pits, after being defeated by the other two, Halisstra converted back to Lolth.Out of the three, Danifae was chosen to become part of the Spider Queen, Quenthel was sent back home and Halisstra was made Lolth's Lady Penitent (her Chosen), whose duty was to hunt and kill followers of Eilistraee and Vhaeraun. Throughout the years the three of them constantly try to sabotage and kill eachother.

Lolth's position in the war:

Lolth was the second one to fall the rebellion very quickly in fact, it was only the day after Shar did it fall. When Lolth fell people where shocked at the outcome, yes Lolth treats her followers horribly and treats them as slaves, but those who reside their, especially the drow are very loyal to her. It was a surprise to see them turn on her, this started a panic with the other kingdoms, if as loyal followers like Lolth's are to turn on her who else could be safe. The rebellion who reside here now also seem to be the higher ranking people like Shar's, it appears as if nothing happens unless those two kingdoms say so.
