Duneyrr

Duneyrr, the Yellow Stag, Scion of Autumn

Duneyrr is a giant fourteen-point buck originally caught in the release of magic during Starfall. It now roams the world, majestic and immortal, made of perpetually burning ash wood, its igneous antlers actively sprouting with crackling, living flame but never consumed. Where its face would be, the wood is split open unevenly like a tree hit by a lightning strike or mighty timber cracking in the heat of a roaring forest fire.

The burning stag of autumn represents the season of decline, the end of life that will one day lead to new fertility.

Those who see its visage are both drawn toward its heat and repulsed by its splintered and crackling self-consumption. When its hooves of coal scorch the hissing, wet earth nearby, it is best that all living things hide themselves lest they be devoured and reborn as something new and vital but wholly unnatural.
