An old, fallen civilization many have completely forgotten about was the Fae Kingdom of Eldermist, which was nearly eradicated by the Purification Crusade when humans decided to purge the world of supernatural immortals deemed impure or unholy. Genocide masquerading as faith.
Even as the final siege was laid upon the last Fae stronghold of Thornhaven, the elders of the last Fae poured all of their wisdom, lore, and history into one of their own, a Fae named Moonshadow. Moonshadow escaped the destruction of Thornhaven and wandered abroad, last of her kind, a living Spell Tome carrying within her all Fae knowledge...if only she remembered how to unlock the understanding contained somewhere in her memory.
