Steelbound / Warforged
Steelbound (also known as "Warforged"; derogatory/slang "Golems") are magically animated warrior constructs created by Celestial Enclave, a vassal state of the Aetheria Dominion. These constructs are powered by Djinnsblood, intended to ensure milatary dominance in any conflict.
Originally, Steelbound were mindless steel soldier automatons, but they have evolved over subsequent generations into sentient beings - giving rise to what some have only grudgingly accepted as a distinct, albeit unconventional, new species.
Steelbound are crafted from wood soaked in potent alchemical fluids. Magically enhanced metal plates form a protective armored exoskeleton. They share a common facial design, with a hinged jaw and crystal eyes embedded beneath a reinforced brow ridge.
These constructs, initially forged for durability and lethality on the battlefield, are now self-aware and sentient. Although they were manufactured, Warforged are now living humanoids that straddle the line between the weapon they were designed to be and the autonomous beings they have become.
