Dresden & Hyde Bamadhaj
Dresden and Hyde are the Aristocrats of the Bamadhaj family within Cnidaria. They run the Gyre Clade. In their relentless pursuit of knowledge, Dresden and Hyde embody a dangerous combination of intellect, ambition, and moral ambiguity, capable of achieving great heights or descending into darkness, depending on where their research leads them. They have an unwavering commitment to their research, even at the cost of their own humanity.
Dresden Bamadhaj, an enigmatic figure within Vedalken society, exudes an unsettling aura that sets her apart from her peers. With a demeanor reminiscent of someone lost in a perpetual dream, Dresden speaks with a slow and deliberate pace, each word drawn out as if she's traversing through the corridors of her own subconscious. Behind her dreamy facade lies a mind of unparalleled intelligence, capable of weaving intricate webs of thought that most would overlook at their own peril.
Despite being widely regarded as 'creepy' by Vedalken standards, Dresden's detached demeanor belies a cold and calculated nature, capable of transitioning from dreamy reverie to chilling intimidation in the blink of an eye. Her disjointed connection to reality has rendered her a disturbed individual, her pursuit of research leading her down paths that most would fear to tread.
Hyde Bamadhaj, Dresden's counterpart, exudes charm and charisma, reminiscent of a classic sleazy car dealer without the sleaze. While his intelligence is formidable in its own right, Hyde readily acknowledges his wife's superior intellect, serving as both a communicator and a hype man for her endeavors. Despite his affable exterior, Hyde's predatory instincts remain keen, constantly assessing those around him and leveraging every opportunity to further their Clade's goals, even if it means bending or breaking the laws of magic.
Dresden and Hyde are known to dislike the Speaker, their interactions with him being delicate balance of deference and ambition. While they respect his leadership and authority, they are not above exploiting any opportunity to advance their own research and agenda. Their recent foray into infernal magic and contract-making with devils serves as a testament to their unyielding dedication, as they spare no expense in pushing the boundaries of knowledge, regardless of the moral or ethical implications.
Other family: Ahriman (Son), Memphis (Daughter-in-Law), Tempest (Granddaughter).Dresden and Hyde's son, Ahriman, a Cataclysmic Hybrid, is the Infernal Ambassador for the Vedalkens. It's common knowledge to most Vedalkens that his parents signed a devil's contract on behalf of him as soon as he was born as part of an experiment, leading to him becoming an exceptionally powerful Warlock. His patron is unknown. Unlike his parents, Ahriman is significantly more liked and approachable compared to his parents. He is known as an awkward yet charming warlock, intelligent and nerdy. He is married to Memphis Hadid, and has a daughter, Tempest. For most of his life, he was close friends with Alpheidae, and the two were like brothers until their eventual dispute - He has expressed interest in repairing their relationship. Ahriman has also publically support Cairo Xanderreef during his political contreversies, defending him against even his own parents. Dresden and Hyde respect their sons choice in this regard, even if they disagree.
Tempest Bamadhaj, born in 315 AC to Memphis and Ahriman, was a surprise miracle, embodying hope as a natural born Cataclysmic Hybrid from two hybrid parents, which was thought to be impossible. From a young age, she demonstrated a fascination with teeth and bones, a passion she discovered while exploring her godfather Alpheidae's lab. Despite initial resistance from her mother Memphis, Tempest pursued her interests with fervor, eventually becoming a dedicated dentist within the Guardian Clade. Her singular focus on her career and peculiar interests in dental anomalies created tension with Memphis, who struggled to understand her daughter's choices, but her bond with Alpheidae remained strong, fostering a shared love for the obscure. She gets along well with her grandparents, who encourage her slightly demented interests.
