The party is ambushed by Qualinesti elves, led by the Qualinesti prince Gilthanas, who reveals they have been instructed to guide the party to the darken Wood. Riverwind reveals this is where he found the staff and why him and Goldmoon are on the run - he gained a lot of trauma from the ordeal. The party agrees to go, as it's either that or getting murdered by the elves. Not a very good selection!
