Kingdom of the Eastern Mountains

  Hallanar one of the four great dwarf kingdoms of Aisora, located in the rugged eastern mountains. Known for its master blacksmiths, legendary weapons, and abundant mineral resources, Hallanar holds a place of great importance in the cultural and economic life of the island. The kingdom’s isolation in the mountains has shaped its people into a resilient and proud society, deeply connected to the earth and its treasures.   Geography and Environment Hallanar is nestled in the towering mountain ranges of eastern Aisora, where the landscape is both majestic and treacherous. The terrain is rocky and arid, with steep cliffs, rocky pillars and deep valleys cutting through the mountains. These lands are rich in ore, with veins of iron, copper, silver, and the much-prized mithril running beneath the surface. The air is dry and the land harsh, but it is precisely this environment that has made Hallanar a kingdom of exceptional miners and soldiers.  

Key Landmarks

  The Forge Peaks
The highest peakss of the kingdom, known for their volcanic activity. The natural heat is harnessed by the dwarfs for large-scale forges high up in the rocky pillars, where they create their finest works.

Grommar’s Chasm
A deep canyon that runs through the heart of Hallanar’s territory, its cliffs studded with entrances to mines and subterranean halls.

The Iron Road
A network of underground tunnels and roads that connects the kingdom’s mines and cities. It serves as the main route for transporting ores and finished goods to other kingdoms.


The Dwarfs of Hallanar
The dwarfs of Hallanar are a proud and industrious people. They are renowned across Aisora for their craftsmanship, particularly in weapon and armorsmithing, which has made their kingdom one of the most influential in matters of trade and warfare. Hallanarian dwarfs have a reputation for being stoic and hardy, with a strong sense of tradition and loyalty to their clan.

Hallanar society revolves around the forges and mines. Every family in the kingdom has some connection to metalworking, whether through mining, smelting, smithing, or crafting weapons and armor. The craft of blacksmithing is viewed not only as a profession but as an art form, and the kingdom’s greatest blacksmiths are celebrated as cultural heroes.  

Clan Structure

  Clan Stonefist
The ruling clan of Hallanar, renowned for their unmatched skill in crafting weapons of war. Currently Grimdan Stonefist is sitting as ruler on the the throne of Hallanar which is seated deep within city, inside a grand underground fortress.

Clan Ironroot
A powerful clan of miners, they control the richest veins of ore and are responsible for much of the kingdom’s wealth.   Clan Emberforge
Blacksmiths and metalworkers of legendary skill, their works are sought after across Aisora. Their great hall, the Emberforge, is home to the kingdom’s largest forge.

Economy

  Hallanar’s wealth is built upon its vast mineral resources and the quality of its crafted goods. The kingdom is famous for producing some of the finest weapons and armor in Elanir, particularly:   Mithril Weapons
Rare and highly sought after, these lightweight but incredibly strong weapons are Hallanar’s most prized exports.
  Runesmithing
Hallanar is known for its runesmiths, who imbue weapons and armor with magical properties, a closely guarded secret passed down through generations. The kingdom’s economy also relies on trade with the other dwarven kingdoms and even some foreign powers, who seek the masterful creations of Hallanar’s forges.  

Culture and Tradition

  Hallanarians are deeply connected to the earth and believe that their skill in blacksmithing is a divine gift from the gods of stone and fire. Festivals and ceremonies often center around their forges, with grand displays of newly crafted weapons and tools. One of the most important cultural events is the Festival of Embers, held annually to honor the ancestors and the gods, where the finest works of smithing are showcased.
The kingdom is also known for its stoic and formal approach to diplomacy. Hallanar dwarfs rarely show emotion in public, viewing restraint as a sign of strength. Honor is paramount in their society, and disputes are often settled through ceremonial duels, which are seen as acts of respect rather than hostility. These Duels also reflects their culture to warefare.   Military Power
  Hallanars military strength is legendary across Aisora and even Elanir. The kingdom’s warriors are equipped with the finest armor and weapons, making them nearly invincible on the battlefield. Hallanar’s armies are heavily armored, relying on brute strength and superior craftsmanship rather than speed. They are known for their disciplined formations and unbreakable shields.
  The Anvil Guard, an elite force within the kingdom, is tasked with defending the royal family and key locations. Their armor is made from mithril and adorned with intricate magic runes, making them formidable combat.   Relations with Other Kingdoms
  Hallanar maintains strong but cautious relationships with the other three dwarf kingdoms. While trade and alliances are essential, especily with Bor Tadir for their fishing and trade port,Hallanarians are wary of outside influence and prefer to keep their secrets within the kingdom. Their greatest rival is the kingdom of Bern Maldur, whose wealth and influence sometimes overshadow Khargram, leading to tension and competition, particularly over trade routes and mineral resources.   Despite these rivalries, Hallanar remains a vital part of Aisora’s balance of power, known and respected for its contributions to the island’s defense and economy.
